How to spend two full days in Singapore
Only have two days in Singapore? Here's how we spent our time there to give you some ideas on what you could do.
We could of probably had just under two and a half days seeing as we arrived at our hotel around 3pm on the first day but I was so tired and the bed in the hotel (Nostalgia Hotel) was so ridiculously comfortable that I ended up napping for pretty much the rest of that day. Sometimes, we just need some R&R, am I right?!
Our first full day in Singapore was our 'sightseeing day'. We got a taxi to Little India where we had a little look around and went in one of the temples. We then decided that the easiest way to get around the majority of the city in the time we had would be on one of the red open top sightseeing buses - we did most of the lines on offer and got to see lots of different sights including the famous Raffles Hotel. It rained whilst we was up on the top deck but we didn't mind too much as it cooled us down. Luckily for us, one of the lines has a stop right outside our hotel so when we were done we used that bus to get back.
That night we had booked ourselves onto a night tour (arranged through our hotel) which took us to Gardens By The Bay, the Sky deck at Marina Bay Sands hotel and on a short river cruise. We didn't realise that the Gardens By The Bay tour wouldn't include entry into the cloud and flower dome which was a little disappointing but we got to see the light and sound show at the super tree which was Christmas themed. It's not easy feeling Christmassy when away from home but this definitely put me in the Christmas spirit, I loved it! We also paid extra to walk up along the trees which gave us some good views.
Speaking of good views, our next stop at the sky deck on top of the Marina Bay Sands hotel definitely gave us just that. The views across Singapore at night were stunning and I was really glad we got to go in and see a bit of the hotel! The river cruise, though only 20 minutes long, started outside the Marina Bay Sands hotel and finished at Clarke's Quay and was a nice way to end the night. We also got to see the Merlion statue.
Our second and final day in Singapore was our 'fun day'. We decided to spend it being big kids at Universal Studios, and it was epic! Sometimes, within all the madness of travelling to lots of different countries and doing typical travelling/touristy things it's nice to just take some time to do something 'normal' and have a bit of fun! We spent the whole day there and managed to go on all the main rides, our favourite being the Battlestar Galactica Cyclone. Other highlights of the day have to be Chris taking part in a dance off when we watched the 'Rockafellas' show (they had him on his hands and knees growling haha, the video is pure comedy gold) and watching the 'Waterworld' stunt show where we sat in the 'soak zone' and you guessed it... we got soaked! Although given how hot it was it was very much welcomed.
We were really impressed with Singapore, a lot of people who we had spoken to before going had told us about how expensive it is and whilst our hotel was quite pricey for three nights (even though I booked it back in August before we started travelling), we thought we got good value for money on everything we decided to do! Although I'm sure if you were there for longer than two days it would start adding up!
Next stop, Vietnam!

On the way back we got the taxi to stop off at a McDonald's and we spent the evening laid in bed resting our legs and eating our naughty food! We were both really tired after all the fun and could of easily fallen asleep not long after getting back but as we were flying to Hanoi in Vietnam the next day we needed to book our accommodation for our first few nights and also book our exit travel out of Vietnam before the 15 days you're allowed without a visa (which in our case, will be a Giant Ibis bus from Ho Chi Minh City to Phenm Penh on 30 Nov).
